Feeling nervous about your first brazilian wax? Here’s some extra tips to make sure you arrive boy-scout-level prepared:
Waxing Tip #1; Trimming the hair
Trimming the hair to a certain length is not a requirement for your first wax. Your therapist can do for you this if necessary. However, it can be beneficial for you to trim the hair yourself. As some therapists will wax any area without trimming, and longer hairs can tangle in the wax which can sting. If you feel your hair is excessive, just use scissors to trim back excessive growth areas to around 2cm.
Waxing Tip #2; Exfoliate
Healthy skin achieves a better, smoother waxing result. As the skin is more hydrated and less dry and flaky the wax sticks to the hair and not the skin, so is more likely to remove the entire hair growth. You will also be less likely to have ingrown hairs afterwards.
Exfoliate the area well around 24 hours before your wax, and apply a light moisturiser like sorbolene creme.
Waxing Tip #3; Concerned about the pain?
Some clients take some pain killers (like paracetamol) before their appointment. It won’t be completely pain-free but can help reduce it.
